How to Stop Invisible Enemies in PokePath TD: The Ultimate Anti-Stealth Guide
If you are cruising through Route 1-1 or 1-2 and suddenly start losing hearts without seeing any enemies pass your defense, you have fallen victim to Invisible (Stealth) Enemies.
The most common culprit is Kecleon, and standard towers cannot target them. They will walk right past your Charizard or Weavile completely unharmed.
Based on data from top players in the community, here is the complete guide on how to detect and defeat invisible waves.
The Solution: Detection Units (Anti-Stealth)
To damage invisible enemies, you must have a Pokemon with the "Can see invisible enemies" trait. You don't need a full team of them—usually, placing just one near the start of the track is enough to reveal them for your other towers to kill.
Here are the best Anti-Stealth units in the game:
1. Honchkrow (The Best Choice)
- Role: The gold standard for detection.
- Why it's good: High damage and decent range. It is the most recommended unit by veteran players for handling stealth waves.
- Placement: Flying/Ground tiles.
2. Xatu (Range Specialist)
- Role: Long-range scout.
- Why it's good: Xatu has excellent range, allowing it to cover a wider area of the track to spot enemies earlier.
- Placement: Flying/Ground tiles.
3. Grumpig (The Grass Specialist)
- Role: Niche placement.
- Why it's good: Unlike the birds, Grumpig can be placed on Grass Tiles. If a map (like Route 2-2) forces you to use grass spots near the entrance, Grumpig is your only option for detection.
Note: Pre-evolution forms like Murkrow, Natu, and Spoink also work, but their range is much smaller.
The Secret Mechanic: "Splash Reveal"
Did you know you can reveal invisible enemies without a detection unit?
The Discord community discovered a hidden mechanic involving Splash Damage (AOE).
- How it works: If an invisible enemy (like Kecleon) is walking next to a visible enemy, and you hit the visible enemy with a Splash attack, the explosion will hit the invisible unit and permanently reveal it.
- Best Units for this: Corsola and Octillery.
- Warning: This is inconsistent. If the invisible enemy is walking alone (not near other mobs), Splash towers cannot target it. Do not rely on this as your only defense.
Pro Tip: Use the "Auto-Pause" Setting
You don't need to keep your Anti-Stealth unit on the field 100% of the time. It is often better to swap them in only when needed.
To avoid losing by accident:
- Go to Settings.
- Enable "Pause before Invisible Wave".
- The game will now automatically pause right before a stealth wave starts, giving you time to swap out a DPS unit for Honchkrow or Xatu.
Summary
Don't let Kecleon end your run.
- Draft at least one: Honchkrow, Xatu, or Grumpig.
- Positioning: Place them at the front of the map to reveal enemies early.
- Backup: Use Corsola for accidental reveals via splash damage.
